Koveshnikov Vahtang Pavlovich

   President of the St. Petersburg Entrepreneurs’ Union
   V. P. Koveshnikov was born on December 24, 1934 in Leningrad in a family of a military officer. He received his higher education at the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute.
   In his youth he was an ardent basketball player and participated in student championships. After graduation he entered the Institute of Radio Navigation, where he had worked for twenty-five years, nine of which as a chief engineer. Later worked at the NPO “Avangard”.
   Professor, Member of the Engineering Academy, Laureate of the State Prize, Honored Industrial Engineer. Awarded with several medals and orders. Married, has a son and two grandchildren. Everyone in the family, with the exception of the youngest members, was educated at the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute. His hobbies include spending time in his summer house, adding to his collection of miniature souvenir bottles with liquor, solving crossword puzzles.
