Film director.
    Born October 3, 1949.
    Graduated from the Director's Faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1980).
    Since 1984 has been working at the film studio "Lenfilm".
    His film "Features of the National Hunt in the Autumn" was recognized the best Russian film in 1995 and won a number of prizes at different international film festivals.
    Such films as "Guard", "Life with an Idiot", "The Third Planet", "Operation "Happy New Year!" are among his films.
    Awarded the "Nika" Prize of the Russian Academy of Cinematography for "Best Director in 1995".
    Honourary Worker of Arts.
