December, 3 in the Shuvalovsky palace the ceremony of awarding of the honorary title "Person of the year - 2002" - "The honoured Worker of Northwest of Russia" was held. On results of this year these persons were awarded with the honorary title: in a nomination "Creator of the year" - the vice-governor of Saint Petersburg Vladimir Shitarev, in a nomination "Writer of the year " - Daniel Granin, in a nomination "Intellectual of the year " - the chairman of Heraldic council at the President of Russia George Vilinbahov, in a nomination "Patriot of the year " - singer Joseph Kobzon, in a nomination "Film director of the year " - Igor Shadhan, "Veteran of the year - the curator of the public fund "Search groups of Leningrad Region" Alexey Prjadehin. In total awards were presented in 15 nominations.

We remind, that the honorary title "Person of the year " is presented already in seventh time on results of rating researches of activity of representatives of the state, religious, public and scientific organizations of Russia. The founder of a rank - public movement "Priority", uniting the leading persons of the region. Laureates are awarded with symbols of the honourable rank and their names are entered in the "Book of honourable and honour of the Northwest of Russia".
